Recently, the Ministry of Education officially released the list for the 2020 Higher Education Scientific Research Outstanding Achievement Award(Science and Technology). The program Key Technologies and Engineering Application for Improving the Comprehensive Environment of Near-surface Road Domain, led by professor Qian Guoping of Changsha University of Science and Technology, won the first prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of the 2020 Higher Education Scientific Research Outstanding Achievement Award.
The award-winning program, which focuses on the environmental problems in the process of road construction, maintenance and management, was jointly presented by CSUST, China Academy of Transportation Sciences, Chang'an University, Tongji University, Hohai University and Jiangsu Sinoroad Engineering Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd. This program has been applied to expressways and municipal roads in many places, which has strongly promoted the implementation of the national strategy of “building China into a country with strong transportation network” and the Belt and Road Initiative, and has achieved significant social and economic benefits.
